Vaccination keeps all our pets safe

Post COVID-19, we all know how important vaccination is for keeping communities safe and well. The same applies for our canine and feline communities! Regular vaccination, along with an annual health check trip to the vet, ensures your pet is protected against common diseases.

In this blog post, we summarise the vaccination requirements for dogs and cats staying at Yass Kennels and Cattery.

Dog vaccination requirements

The recommended minimum requirement for dogs going to kennels is the C5 vaccination. This provides immunity against distemper, hepatitis, parvovirus, parainfluenza and bordatella (which cause canine cough).

Cat vaccination requirements

The recommended minimum requirement for cats going to catteries is the F3 vaccination. This provides immunity against feline enteritis and feline respiratory syndrome (commonly called ‘cat flu’). Your vet may also advise vaccination against Chlamydophila and feline Leukaemia.

Proving vaccination status

We don’t allow dog and cats to stay with us unless we have proof they are up to date with required vaccinations. We send out reminder emails to advise when your pet’s vaccination is due to expire.

To let us know when your pet has been vaccinated, login to our customer portal and upload a copy of their vaccination certificate for our staff to review.

To ensure your pets remain healthy and safe during their stay at Yass Kennels and Cattery, ensure their vaccinations are up to date and be ready to provide evidence of vaccination when booking accommodation for your pet.
